General Installation and Watering - Insert the coco mat liner in the wire container and gently press it into shape. Fill the container with potting soil to within 1" of the top. Roll out the seeded mat across the surface of the soil and cut it to fit. Water liberally until water pours through the bottom and the coco mat liner feels well saturated. See Garden Basics for detailed information about Soil Preparation for Containers, How to Store Unused Mats for Next Season, and other helpful tips.
Special Considerations - Cut a second section the size of the one you just installed and save it for next season. Now you can use the remaining roll to add dimension to another Instant Flower Garden® garden. For example, consider placing it along the front of the Jewel Box Garden or the Lady Bird Wil Flower Garden.
Where to Plant - Full to partial sun.
What I Can Expect - The Instant Flower Garden® Nature's Cradle plants will germinate in 1 to 2 weeks depending upon conditions and soil temperature. Patience is necessary in this phase. Cool evenings and overcast days can delay germination. In addition, soil in container gardens may warm a bit more slowly than in-ground conditions. After the second set of leaves unfold, some thinning may be necessary to avoid crowding and allow for stronger mature plants. Expect the Nature's Cradle flowers to grow to a height of 12 to 30 inches and continue blooming throughout the season.
